Featured Itinerary of the Week - Machu Picchu

For this week's featured itinerary, user pau takes us to Machu Picchu, one of the wonders of the world.  According to pau, Machu Picchu is one of the most important tourist cities of the department of Cusco.  It was build on top of a granite mountain, and boasts extraordinary scenery and beautiful architecture.

This itinerary has four stages through the city, starting at the Inca Trail which is actually a network of trails built by the Incas.  Then, we move to Intipunku, or the "Doorway to the Sun."  After that, we see the fascinating Temple of the Moon, and end with Wayna Picchu, or a "young mountain" that towers over the city.  The views in these photos are just breathtaking, and if you've ever been curious about the city of Machu Picchu, you should definitely visit this itinerary!
