We then went to San Juan Chamula: green mountains and red lands, corn and vegetation...This community hardly speaks Spanish. You must visit the church, of course with a local guide: you will see all sorts of figures, small statues with traditional clothes, before you join San Juan's sculpture. Amerindian are celebrating their rituals, with candles, incense, food and drinks. You must be very respectful, you can't take pictures and there are poeple constantly watching you. This community produces a very typical and beautiful handicrafts, you will find many young girls selling their creations. In the cemetery you will find a special amosphere: this people are used to spend time with their dead.
